‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Star Michael Rooker to Direct Marvel’s ‘Guardian’ Movie

Marvel Studios has announced that Michael Rakeer will direct the upcoming film “Guardians” and will produce.

Rooker is best known for his role as Chris Pratt on the ABC series “The Office” and for his starring role in “The Fast and the Furious” films.

He will produce the film alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Chris Yost, Joss Whedon, Amy Pascal, Simon Kinberg, Chris Bachalo and Alex Ross.

Rooking has directed four movies since his debut in “Guardian,” including “The Last Samurai” in 2006, “Wolverine,” “The Wicker Man” and “The Big Sick.”

Rookers first film, “Guarders of the Galactic Galaxy,” opened in 2012, and has grossed more than $3 billion worldwide.

He also starred in “Crocodile Dundee,” “Frozen” and the animated “Frost/Nixon.”

The film also received an Oscar nomination for Best Original Screenplay.

In 2014, he co-wrote and directed the feature-length animated film “Battlestar Galactica” with Michael Bay.
